In India,  Breast cancer is the 2nd most largely occurring cancer in India, the leading cause of death for women - among cancer diseases. But given these statistics, cancer awareness and treatment are still very low. Low breast cancer awareness means Indian women do not go through regular breast checkups and mammogram tests as they should once they have reached a certain age. Also, they are not aware of self-breast examinations or do not do so on a regular basis. 


Tragically, there is still no cure, but early diagnosis and detection help to save lives. 


In 2020, more than two lakh women in India were estimated to have been diagnosed with breast cancer, and more than 76,000 deaths were reported as per the estimates. As per the 2020 National Cancer Registry Program Report, the number is expected to rise to more than 2.3 lakh cases in 2025.

Ways to manage and understand risk of Breast Cancer!

Diet and lifestyle are important : One reason for the growth in cancer cases is an unhealthy lifestyle and frequent consumption of ultra-processed and nutritionally deficient food. Stress is also a contributing factor. Eating a diet that is balanced, looking after your weight and managing stress are lifestyle changes that can help reduce the chances of cancer. -

Exercise :  Walking and moderate exercise helps balance hormones as well as reduce stress. Even if one is working, one needs to make time to fit in some amount of exercise on a regular basis.


Consult a doctor : In case you find a lump or even if you have doubts about whether something is a lump or not, it is important to consult a doctor. Waiting to seek medical
attention may aggravate cancer and reduce the chances of recovery and get check-up

How Infratorch works?

The screening unit relies on infrared lights with 540 to 650 NM which will penetrates through breast tissue when used in a dark room, the red-light shines through the breast, lighting the red blood cells and mammary glands so they appear black. This way, it is possible to see all the blood vessels in the breast, including any concerning masses or tumors.


When a reading is determined to be abnormal, it is imperative to get a second opinion from your doctor or specialist as soon as possible.
